JOSEPH BONDZIE AFRIFA
is a dynamic and driven legal professional committed to represent the voice, interest and advocate for young lawyers of the Ghana Bar Association.
MY EXPERIENCE
I am running for President of the Young Lawyers’ Forum, driven by a commitment to tackle key challenges faced by young lawyers. With six years of dedicated service in leadership roles and advocacy for my peers, including my experience as a lawyer and active involvement in the GBA, I have firsthand insight into issues like fair remuneration, professional development, and career opportunities beyond traditional practice.

My background in leadership, advocacy for legal reforms, equips me to lead initiatives that foster professional growth, strengthen Bar relations, and create innovative solutions for career advancement and financial security for young lawyers.

My vision for the Young Lawyers’ Forum is centered on three core pillars:
Mentorship and Professional Growth
To establish structured mentorship programs, connecting young lawyers with experienced professionals, to guide their career development and provide ongoing support.
Career Advancement Oportunities
Advocate for more opportunities for young lawyers to gain practical experience, including workshops, and networking events, ensuring they are equipped for leadership roles.
Inclusive and Engaged Forum
Foster an inclusive environment within the Young Lawyers Forum, promoting open dialogue, collaboration, and active participation from all members to shape a stronger, united legal community.

• Negotiating for a Standardised Minimum Compensation Structure comprising, a Base Salary, Bonuses and other Incentives.
• Identifying and Enlightening Young Lawyers about Alternative Practice Areas and job opportunities beyond the courtroom, law firms and legal departments of institutions.
2. WELFARE OF YOUNG LAWYERS
